Betty June (Jameson) Swanson

Betty J. Swanson 92 of Loup City, NE died Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Rose Lane Home in Loup City, NE.  Graveside Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 10:30 AM at the Bassett Memorial Park Cemetery.

 Betty June (Jameson) Swanson  was born June 14, 1923 at Upland, NE to Earnie and Beulah (Riggins) Jameson.  She graduated from Bassett High School in Basset, NE in 1939.  On October 12, 1941 she married Cecil Swanson.  Betty was a hairdresser for more than 50 years.  She enjoyed making people beautiful and feel good about themselves.  Betty and Cecil lived in Loup City for 2 years in the late 50’s where she owned and operated Betty’s Beauty Shop.  She loved her grandchildren and loved taking them to the cabin at Long Pine when they were younger.  Cecil and Betty retired in 1989 and moved to Victoria Palms in Donna, TX.  They enjoyed warm and sunny Texas for most of 20 years.  Cecil died in 2004. Betty moved to Loup City in September, 2009 to be closer to family.  She moved to Rose Lane Assisted Living and then Rose Lane Home.  Betty enjoyed life and always had a smile for everyone.

     She is survived by her son, Ron Swanson and wife, Robin of Loup City, NE; daughter, Susan Swanson of Corpus Christi, TX, and two grandsons, Tony and Ron both of Farwell, NE.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil and her sister, Phyllis Billesbach.
