     Charlene E. Lewandowski 87 of Loup City, NE died Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Rose Lane Home in Loup City. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City with Father Richard Piontkowski officiating. Burial will be held at the Arcadia City Cemetery in Arcadia, NE. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 14 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church with a Vigil Celebration to be held at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Lewandowski family or donor’s choice. 

     Charlene Elaine (Palser) Lewandowski was born May 30, 1930 at Scotia, NE to Carol and Grace (Beck) Palser. She grew up in the Scotia area and attended grade school at Davis Creek and Rural Sherman County School. She attended high school at Loup City and Big Springs and graduated from Scotia High School. On August 8, 1949, she married Carl Wenzel Lewandowski at Scotia, NE. They farmed north of Loup City until 1953 and then moved to a farm southwest of Arcadia. In 1987, they moved to Arcadia. While in Arcadia she owned and operated a café for six years. In 1996, they moved to Loup City. While in Loup City she worked at Rose Lane Home and as a waitress at the Sale Barn Café and Drive In. Carl died August 6, 1998. Charlene was a member of St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church and Arcadia American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, flowers and politics. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

     Charlene is survived by her daughter, Karen Greenland; son, Ronald; daughter, Barbara and husband, Kenny Dorsey all of Arcadia; daughters, Linda and husband, Jim Obermiller; Diane Loeffelbein; Carla and fiancé, Larry Placzek; Merrilee (Mitzi) and husband Lonnie Tvrdik all of Loup City; son David (Spike) and wife, Nicci of Arcadia, NE; daughter, Cheryl and husband, Sam Dunn of Loomis, NE; son, Robert and wife, Dallas of Loup City; 29 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren and brother, Harlan and wife, Darlene Palser of Russell, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Bill and Hillis and sons-in-law, Kenny Loeffelbein and Gary Greenland.
