Delores A. (Harrison) Treffer

Delores A. Treffer, 71, of Loup City, NE went home to be with her Lord on October 2, 2015 at her home.  Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Loup City with Pastor Delmar Unruh and George Reitz officiating.  Burial will be at the Austin Cemetery near Loup City.  Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City.  Memorials are suggested to the Gideons International or First Baptist Church of Loup City. 

Delores A. Treffer was born on February 3, 1944 at Weatherford, TX to T.W. and Gracie (Barnwell) Harrison.  She grew up in Texas and Iowa.  She attended and graduated from Omaha Baptist Bible College in 1966.  She then attended Immanuel Hospital School of Nursing in Omaha, NE and earned her R.N. degree in 1969.

In 1971 she married Donald C. Treffer from Rockville, NE and moved to the family farm in Rockville.  She worked as an R.N. at the Rose Lane Home for many years, as well as Tiffany Square, and CNCS.  Later she worked as a medical transcriptionist at St Francis Medical Center.

She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and encouraging others with kind words and scripture.  She was an active member of First Baptist Church and loved to sing in the choir.

She is survived by her son, John Treffer and wife Dana and three grandchildren, Erica, Cole, and Gracie all of Loup City, NE; her daughter, Elizabeth Treffer of Grand Island, NE; brother Pat Harrison and wife Marcia of Hollister, MO; many nieces and nephews; and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Treffer; brother, David Harrison; mother Gracie Kurtz; father, T.W. Harrison.
