Dorothy T. Burrows, 89 of Loup City, NE died Friday, July 17, 2015 at Rose Lane Home in Loup City.  Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Loup City with Reverend Jim Koontz officiating.  Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the East Woodlawn Cemetery in Johnstown, NE.  Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.  Memorials are suggested to the Valley County Hospice, Rose Lane Home or donor’s choice.

Dorothy Teresa Quick was born October 8, 1925 to George and Bessie (Furgason) Quick.  She grew up in Woodlake, NE and attended school there through the 8th grade.  On March 6, 1941 she married Russell Caldwell and 4 children were born to this marriage.  On July 21, 1952 she married Durward Burrows and 5 children were born to this marriage.  She lived in Johnstown, NE most of her life and moved to Loup City in 2000.  Dorothy loved to cook for her family or anyone that showed up to the house.  She also loved to bake.  Her baked and canned goods were always a hit at the county fair.  Most important of all was her family.  She loved to be with all of her family.  She entered Rose Lane Home in Loup City in August, 2007.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Loraine and husband, Charles Evans of Alliance, NE; son, Don and wife, Patty Caldwell of Stratton, CO; daughter, Peggy and husband, Jack Kuta of Loup City, NE; daughter, Shirley and husband, Louis Larabee of Ainsworth, NE; daughter, Beverly and husband, Dave O’Dea of North Platte, NE; son, Jay and wife, Carlene Burrows of Ainsworth, NE; son, Bill and wife, Patty Burrows of North Platte, NE; daughter, Maxine Scarberry of Midland, TX; son, George and wife, Tarin Burrows of Broken Bow, NE; 27 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; 22 great, great grandchildren;.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Durward; parents; 2 grandsons; 1 granddaughter and 1 great grandson; 1 brother and 3 sisters.
