Louise A. (Rawley) Merritt

Louise A. Merritt, age 81 of Ord, Nebraska died Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Valley View Living Center in Ord.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City with Father Richard Piontkowski officiating. Cremation has been held. Inurnment will be held at a later date.  No visitation.  Memorials are suggested to the Merritt family or donor’s choice.

Louise A. (Rawley) Merritt was born June 18, 1935 in London, Ontario, Canada to Walter P. and Bertha G. (Hargitt) Rawley.  She grew up in San Diego, California and attended Nursing School in Los Angeles graduating in 1958.  On January 9, 1961 she married Carl Merritt in San Diego, California.  They lived in various communities in Nebraska.  Carl and Louise moved to Ashton, NE in 2000; Loup City, NE in 2007 and Ord, NE in 2014.  Louise loved reading and Hershey’s chocolate.  She was a member of St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City. 

Survivors include her husband, Carl of Ord, Nebraska; son, Steven Merritt of Aloha, Oregon; daughter, Teresa Merritt of Seaside, Oregon; daughter, Katherine and husband, Greg Naber of Waco, Nebraska; daughter, Victoria and husband Leonard Landers of Loup City, Nebraska, daughter Carla and husband, Jack Crockett of Hernando, Mississippi; son, Mark and wife, Lori Merritt of Grand Island, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren and 6 great grand-children.  She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Francis Rawley, and great-grandson Logan.
