Lynn Lowell Johnson

     Lynn Johnson 89 of Loup City, NE died Saturday, September 2, 2017 at his son’s home in Kearney, NE surrounded by his family. Celebration of Life services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Loup City with Reverend Jim Koontz officiating. Military honors will follow outside the church by the Loup City American Legion Post #48. Burial will be held at a later date at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City. Visitation will be one hour before service time at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Sherman County Senior Center, Sherman County Historical Society or donor’s choice.

     Lynn Lowell Johnson was born Aug 2, 1928 on his family’s farm outside of Loup City to Elmer E. and Cecil C. (Hulse) Jonnson. Lynn continued to farm the ground where he was born throughout his life. He loved to work the land and took solace on it. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Korean war. On Dec 8, 1968, he married Evelyn M. Swindell. He was an active member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion, Sherman Co. Historical Society, Muzzle Loaders Club, and attended the Senior Center regularly. His hobbies and past-times included: bow hunting, deer hunting, bowling, pool, fishing, gardening, feeding his farm cats, and spending time with his family and friends in whom he took much pride and satisfaction.

     His last days were spent in a loving home surrounded by the care and prayer of the family and friends that he himself cared for and cherished throughout his well-lived life.

     He is survived by his: Loving and devoted wife Evelyn; Son Matthew, wife Anne, grandchildren Moriah and Christopher; Son Timothy, wife Stacey, grandchildren David and wife Shelby, Eric and Samantha; Son Edward, wife Mary, grandchildren Logan and Ryan. He was proceeded in death by his parents Elmer E. and Cecil C. Johnson and sister Fern Wiggins.
