Allen Lonowski, 69 of Scottsbluff, NE formerly of Loup City, NE died Sunday, February 17, 2019 at CHI Health, Good Samaritan in Kearney, NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 22, 2019 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City. Concelebrating the Mass with be Father Richard Piontkowski and Father Vince Parsons. Burial will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City with military honors by the Loup City American Legion Post #48. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church with a Knights of Columbus Rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Lonowski family or donor’s choice.
Allen Lonowski was born August 18, 1949 at Loup City, NE to Delphie “Del” and Louise (Waskowiak) Lonowski. He grew up and attended school in Loup City and graduated from Loup City High School in 1968. On August 13, 1968 Allen entered the Army and served in Vietnam. On February 17, 1972 he was honorably discharged. On July 20, 1973 he married Beth Horn at Oconto, NE. Three children were born; Christy, Dawn and Eric. Allen was a Phillips 66 petroleum marketer practically from his childhood till 1999. A career change took Allen and Beth to Scottsbluff, NE where he was an agent for Knights of Columbus Insurance. Allen was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Scottsbluff; Knights of Columbus and VFW.
Allen is survived by his wife, Beth of Scottsbluff; daughter, Dawn Lonowski of Denver, CO; son, Eric Lonowski of Oakland, CA; granddaughter, Abbirose Lonowski; brother, Delmer (Mary) Lonowski of Brookings, SD; sisters, Adene (Larry) Maronde of York, NE; Joyce (Tom) Jacobsen of Colorado Springs, CO and Beth (Mike) Jones of Columbus, NE. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christy in 1989 and parents, Del and Louise.
