Dave D Hill

     Dave Hill, 58 of Arcadia, NE died Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Celebration of Life services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Arcadia, NE with Reverend Dr. Jeff D. Hale officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Hill family or donor’s choice.

     Dave was born January 20, 1960, to Morris Hill and Delores (Holmes) Hill-Hornickel. Dave was always open to helping anyone in need, no matter the cost to him. He loved being outdoors and taking care of his trees, flowers and chickens. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf when he could. He was proud to talk about the bridges he built. Dave was continually on the move, there was always something to do.

     Family was an important part of his life. Dave made sure his family was taken care of by working without complaint. He was a great example of what work ethic takes. He made time to take his family fishing or help with anything needed at the time. He loved giving candy to his grandchildren.

     It was easy for Dave to laugh and he always had a smile.

     Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Elaine Hill of Arcadia, NE;  mother, Delores Hill-Hornickel of Ord, NE; two daughters, Stephanie and Bill Kreifels of North Loup, NE; Christine Rowse of Minneapolis, MN; sons, Andrew Hill of St. Paul, NE; Adam Hill of Arcadia, NE; sister, Sherry Nelson of N.C.; brothers and sister-in-law, Mike and Sandy Hill of Loup City, NE; Mark and Trish Hill of Arcadia, NE; Paul Hill of Cozad, NE; three grandchildren, Phoebe, James, and Amylia; many nieces and nephews and four step-sisters, Irene and Mike Kreifels, Cheryl Hornickel, Joy and Tom Schmidt, and Bonnie and Jim Chambers. Dave was preceded in death by his father, Morris Hill and step-father, Mervin Hornickel.
