Frank E. Kovarik , 88 of Loup City, NE died Monday, February 25, 2019 at Rose Lane Home in Loup City. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in Loup City with Reverend Doug DeNeui officiating. Cremation will take place following the service with burial of ashes to be held at a later date. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 4 at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Kovarik family or donor’s choice.
Frank E. Kovarik was born December 8, 1930 at Burwell, NE to Stanley J., Sr. and Bessie (Hulinsky) Kovarik. He grew up and attended school in Ord, NE. On June 23, 1952 he married Ora Jean Wilson at Broken Bow, NE. Seven children were born; Carol, Sharon, Joe, David, Sandy, Pam and Fran. Frank and Jean lived in Loup City from 1952 till 1957 when they moved to Ravenna. They resided in Ravenna until 1962 when they moved back to Loup City where he spent the rest of his life. Frank worked for the Kansas Nebraska Gas Company.
Frank is survived by his wife, Jean of Loup City; daughter, Carol Cech of Loup City; daughter, Sharon (Larry) Schwaderer of Loup City; son, Joe (Willie) Kovarik of Grand Island, NE; daughters, Sandy (Carlos) Campa of Kearney, NE; Pam (Jim) Ritz of Loup City and Fran (David) Mendez of Allen, TX; eighteen grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Kovarik of Denver, CO; brother, Bob Kovarik of Long Beach, CA and sister, Marilyn Dempsey of Denver, CO. He was preceded in death by his son, David; grandson, David James; parents; brothers, Stan and Eldon and sister, Betty.
