Jessica Callender Obituary

     Jessica R. Callender, 36 of Loup City, NE died Thursday, May 16, 2019 at her home in Loup City after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City. No services are scheduled. Cremation has been held. Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2019 at the Ansley Cemetery in Ansley, NE. Memorials are suggested to the Callender family or donor’s choice. 

     Jessica R. Callender was born December 15, 1982 at Eureka, CA to Mark and Megan (Snell) Callender. She grew up at Eureka, CA and in 1992 moved to Dannebrog, NE. She attended school in Dannebrog, NE and graduated from Centura High School in 2001. In 2007, Jessica moved to Loup City. She was a Med-Aide at Rose Lane Home in Loup City.

     Jessica was a dedicated mother to her three sons; Cody Donohue, Quintan Samples and Paxton Callender-Samples. She was a loving daughter and extraordinary friend. Jessica’s sons were the pride of her life. The legacy of her kind spirit, passion for caring for others, love of family and friends, and zest for life will live on through them. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She made friends everywhere she went and was loved by many. Jessica worked at Rose Lane Home in Loup City for many years until her battle with cancer took her from being the hard-working caregiver to the one needing care. Through it all, the strength and courage she displayed has been inspirational. She will be dearly missed by the many people, who’s lives she has touched and will remain forever in our hearts.

     Jessica is survived by her three sons; Cody Donohue, Quintan Samples and Paxton Callender-Samples of Loup City, NE; mother, Megan Coffman of Loup City, NE; four sisters; Jennifer Callender, Nicole Gonzalez, Stephanie Holbrook and Amy Edmonds; grandmother, Marlene Snell of Eureka, CA; two uncles, Shawn Snell and Rory Snell and nine nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Mark Callender and grandpa, Michael Snell.
