Lori Lee (Helm) Roach

     Lori Lee Roach, 58 of Redlands, CA formerly of Ashton, NE died Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, CA with her family at her side. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2018 at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Ashton, NE with Father Richard Piontkowski celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow at the St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday before Mass. Memorials are suggested to the Christian Motorcycle Association or donor’s choice.

     Lori Lee was born March 1, 1960 in Grand Island, NE to Nelson and Sharon (Brehm) Helm. She grew up in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1978. She married the love of her life, Joseph A. Roach in California in June, 1979. To this union were born two wonderful children, Brenda and Christopher. During their married life Joseph and Lori made their home in Nebraska, Texas and California.

     Lori loved her family and especially her grandchildren; Mckayla, McKenya, McKenzie, Everly, Evren, Kaly, Kealen, and Mia. Her face would light up each time she talked of them. Lori loved her garden and was an award-winning gardener. She spent hours from sunup to sundown tenderly taking care of it and gathering the seeds for the next year’s planting. She loved sharing her harvests with family and friends. Lori also loved to cook and can the fruits of her harvest. If you stopped by she always had a kind word and dessert to share. She loved her desserts.

     Lori’s faith was very strong and she used it to help and console her many friends and family during difficult times. Lori and Joseph were active motorcyclists and rode with the Christian Motorcycle Association where her biker name was “Butterfly”.

     Lori is survived by her husband of 39 years, Joseph of California; daughter, Brenda Fies; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Nelly Roach all of Texas; parents, Nelson and Sharon Helm of Texas; mother-in-law, Gloria Roach of Ashton, NE; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Rhonda and Harold Krolikowski of Ashton, NE; Russell and Lex Ann Roach of Omaha, NE; Kate Garey of Grand Island, NE; Jeri Mitsch of Lincoln, NE; Cara and Dan Smydra of St. Paul, NE; Teresa and Mark Spotanski of Sweetwater, NE and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, and her father-in-law, Eugene Roach.
