Adalia L. Brophy, 86 of Loup City, NE died Tuesday, May 05, 2015 at her home in Loup City. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2015 at Roper and Son’s Funeral Home in Lincoln, NE with Pastor Russell Barelmann officiating. Burial will be held at the Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln following the service. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 8 at Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City. Memorials are suggested to the Brophy family or donor’s choice.
Adalia L. (Winklepleck) Brophy was born November 22, 1928 at Omaha, NE to Wade W. and Viola (Balster) Winklepleck. She graduated from Northeast High School in 1946. She worked as a photographer at Miller and Paine in Lincoln. On November 22, 1947 she married Arthur W. Brophy at Coryell Park at Brock, Ne. She graduated from South East Community College in 1974. She worked as a LPN for Lincoln General Hospital for 19 years until her retirement. In 1994 she moved with Arthur to Loup City. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Michael O’Linn Brophy of Tacoma, WA; Patrick J. and Regina Brophy of Basehor, KS; Kevin Arthur Brophy of Davey, NE; daughters, Kathleen Kim Brophy and Kelly Brophy both of Lincoln; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Wade H. Winklepleck of Bennett, NE and sister, Alen Holt of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; daughter, Connie Lee Brophy; 3 great grandchildren and sister, Arletta Teeters.
