Alfred S. “Al” Krolikowski, 89 of Loup City, NE died Friday, March 25, 2011 at Rose Lane Home in Loup City, NE. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City with Father Martin Egging officiating. Burial will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2011 at the church with a Vigil Celebration and Knights of Columbus Rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Loup City Rescue Squad, Loup City Fire Department, Sherman County Community Foundation, Loup City American Legion Baseball or donor’s choice.
Alfred S. Krolikowski was born April 15, 1921 at Ashton, Nebraska to Michael and Bernice (Dzingle) Krolikowski. He grew up in Ashton and attended Ashton Parochial Boarding School. On February 18, 1947 he married Alice Shotkoski. To this union one daughter was born, Mary Jean. Al was a lifelong Sherman County resident – primarily in Loup City. Early in life he was a farm hand. He also drove the Jesses bread delivery truck and then spent many years with Nebraska Public Power District in sales and heating. He was a member of St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Loup City Golf Club. Al loved baseball and played on the Sherman County Town Team. He also loved golf and his dog Rocky.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jean and Jack Bisbee of Omaha, NE; grandsons, Jeffrey Bisbee and wife Heather, Jayson Bisbee and wife Heidi; great grandchildren, Paige, Chase, Zachary and Ellie; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Geri Krolikowski of Loup City, NE and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Alice; brothers, Tony, Clarence, Don and Leonard; sisters, Wanda Bendykowski, Tekla Lewandowski, Adalaide Larchick and infant sisters, Clara and Alice.
