Alice M. Slobaszewski 85 of Ashton, NE died Saturday,
January 08, 2011 at Rose Lane Home in Loup City, NE with her family at her side. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City with Father Martin Egging officiating. Burial will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 11 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church with a Vigil service held at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Slobaszewski family or donor’s choice.
Alice M. Slobaszewksi was born May 24, 1925 in Sherman County, Nebraska to Tony and Martha (Lewandowski) Stenka. She grew up near Ashton and attended the Schaupps school through the 8
th
grade. On August 16, 1944 she married Don Hughes and one daughter, Sharon was born to this union. On October 28, 1957 Don passed away. She then married Ralph Slobaszewski on December 28, 1959. She and Ralph farmed near Ashton until she moved to assisted living at Rose Lane in Loup City in July, 2010. In December she entered Rose Lane Home. Alice loved to garden, especially growing roses and violets. She also decorated cakes and loved her chickens and dog, Misty. She was a member of St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph of Ashton, NE; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Eddy Krzycki of Ashton; three grandchildren and spouses, Kenneth and Janelle Krzycki, Kevin and Ann Krzycki and Lisa and Jim Pappas; eight great grandchildren, Brady and Ethan Krzycki, Kyle, Kolby and Kinley Krzycki and Keyton, Emerson and Greyson Pappas. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Don.
