Allan E. Masters was born April 19, 1920 at Arcadia, NE to Ora and Pearl (Edwards) Masters.  On the surface, he was a simple, straightforward, “what you see is what you get”, honest, hardworking man.  But under the surface was a complex individual capable of wearing many hats; husband, dad, uncle, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, World War II veteran, farmer, rancher, banker, and friend.  He was also a teacher, leading by example and the owner of a wonderful sense of humor…displaying itself over and over during his life and during these last difficult months.  His family and those who knew him will miss him…he will surely miss all he knew.  While the physical part of him is now gone, he remains with us in prayers, thoughts, and in our memories.

Allan never lost his sense of purpose, his foundation of integrity, his pride in his community, his love of country, or his wonder of the world.  We are reminded of a quote from one of his favorite presidents, Ronald Reagan who said: “There are no such things as limits to growth, because there are no limits to the human capacity of intelligence, imagination and wonder.”

Those left to cherish his memory are a daughter, Marilyn and her husband, Dennis Karnopp of Bend, OR; son, Doug and wife Robbin of Arcadia, NE; son, James and wife Sara of Papillion, NE; 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Gladys; son, Richard and his parents.

Godspeed…you have run the good race and finished it well.
