Alvin Slobaszewski, 88 of Ashton, NE died Thursday, April 30, 2015 at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, NE. Cremation has been held. A Memorial Mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2015 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City with Father Martin Egging officiating. Burial will be held at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Rockville. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015 at the church with a Vigil Service to be held at 6:00 p.m. at the church.
Alvin C. Slobaszewski was born November 1, 1926 in Sherman County, NE to Steven and Domicella (Roschynialski) Slobaszewski. Alvin grew up on his parent’s farm and attended rural school through the 8 th grade that was located on the farmstead. He married Delores Baker on October 7, 1952 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City, NE. They had been married for 63 years. Alvin and Delores farmed his parent’s farm and Alvin lived there his entire life. Alvin loved to ride around the farm on his four-wheeler and check on his cattle. He also enjoyed playing cards and going to dances. He was a past member of the St. Mary’s Parish Council and Rockville Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Delores of Ashton, NE; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Greg Colombe of Lincoln, NE; son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Sandy Slobaszewski of Ashton; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Dan Foster of Loomis, NE; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Krista Slobaszewski of Loup City, NE; grandchildren; Brett Colombe, Jessica (Jon) Schueth, Ronnie, Randy (Julie) and Roger Slobaszewski, Stacey (Maurice) Cole, Tony (Ashley) and Jeremy (Pam) Hansen, Conner and Parker Slobaszewski; 8 great grandchildren and sister, Elaine Mrkvicka. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ralph Slobaszewski; sister, Rosemary Slobaszewski and grandson, Michael Hansen.
