Arlene Janulewicz, 92 of Loup City, NE died Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Rose Lane Home in Loup City, NE. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City, NE with Father Martin Egging officiating. Burial will be at the St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Ashton, NE. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 30 at the church with a Sodality Rosary and Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Loup City Rescue Squad or donor’s choice.
Arlene (Bonczynski) Janulewicz was born February 7, 1922 on a farm south of Ashton, NE to Theophil and Theresa (Grabowski) Bonczynski. She grew up and attended school in Sherman County. She married Anzel Jarzynka on September 26, 1945. The couple lived on a farm south of Ashton for eight years and then moved to a farm north of Rockville, NE. Anzel died January 12, 1961. Arlene and her two children, Jerry and Christine moved to Loup City where she worked as a dental assistant for 20 years. On July 22, 1967 she married Paul Janulewicz at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City. They made their home in Loup City. She was a member of St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church, Rosary Sodality and Council of Catholic Women.
She is survived by her son, Jerry and wife, Carol Jarzynka of Loup City, NE; daughter, Christine and husband, Keith Reihe of Vail, CO; step-son, Ken and wife, Phyllis Janulewicz of Loup City; step-daughter, Patti and Jerry Kowalski of Loup City; three, grandchildren; seven, great grandchildren; eight, step-grandchildren; seventeen, step-great grandchildren; three step-great, great grandchildren; brother, Leonard and wife, Bonnie Bonczynski of Lexington, NE and sister, Agnes Smedra of Kearney, NE She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Anzel Jarzynka; second husband, Paul Janulewicz and one infant daughter.
