Catherine Rademacher, 97 of Loup City, NE died Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Valley County Hospital in Ord, NE. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 22, 29013 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City with Father Martin Egging officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 21 at St. Josaphat’s with a Sodality Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials are suggested to Rademacher family or donor’s choice. Memorials contributions will be determined after the funeral.
Catherine M. Rademacher was born March 20, 1916 at Arcadia, NE to Michael and Julia (Schacta) Chelewski. She grew up near Arcadia and attended farm school. She married Henry “Harry” E. Rademacher on October 8, 1940 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City. To this union three children were born; Elaine, Larry and James. Harry and Catherine farmed in Sherman County all of their life. She belonged to the Busy Bells Extension Club, St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church, Altar Society, Rosary Sodality, the Loup City Saddle Club, a 4-H Leader, card club and Birthday club and helped at the fair for many years. Catherine lived to please others. Most important to her in life was God, her husband and her family.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Karen Rademacher of Loup City, NE; James and Sue Rademacher of Loup City, NE; daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Larry Reiter of Loup City, NE; ten grandchildren, Janelle Brabec, Brian Reiter, Troy Reiter, Scott Rademacher, Wayne Rademacher, David Rademacher, Shawn Rademacher, Darrick Rademacher, Jason Rademacher and Melissa Newton; 29 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister, Pauline Zocholl of Westminster, CO and sister-in-law, Mary Chelewski of Loup City, NE. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; brothers, Stanley, Frank, Tom, Paul, John, Dutch, Swede and Eddie Chelewski, infant brother, Dominic; sisters, Victoria Panowicz, Agnes Kuszak, Rose Badura, and Sally Zocholl
