Clarence Placzek, 91 of Loup City, NE died Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Rose Lane Home in Loup City. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City with Father Martin Egging officiating. Cremation will follow the service with inurnment of ashes to be held at a later date at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 22 at St. Josaphat’s with a Vigil Service held at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Placzek family or donor’s choice.
Clarence C. Placzek was born May 13, 1921 at Loup City, NE to Frank and Clara (Dymek) Placzek. He grew up and attended school in Loup City through the sixth grade. He married Delta Piper November 28, 1944 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City. They lived on a farm until 1965 and then moved into Loup City. After farming he was a land leveler for a construction company and also had a car dealership for a while. He was a member of St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City.
He is survived by his wife, Delta of Loup City; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Carla Placzek of Loup City; Jerry Placzek of Loup City; Richard and Tonya Placzek of McCook, NE; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Jim Placek of Omaha, NE; 19 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; brother, Lavern Placzek of Helena, Montana and sister, Ilene Guido of Omaha, NE.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl and Harry Placzek; sister, Edna Hamilton and daughter-in-law, Rosalie Placzek.
