Craig S. Mellor, 64 of Loup City, NE died Friday, February 06, 2015 at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE. In following with Craig’s wishes his body has been cremated. Celebration of Life services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City. A light lunch will follow at the Loup City Community Building. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family to be donated to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Craig’s name.
Craig S. Mellor was born March 17, 1950 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to Stephen and Olive (Plumstead) Mellor. He grew up and attended school in Carson, California and graduated from Carson High School in 1968. He married Carolyn Burlison on May 12, 1973 in Carson, CA. While in Carson he was a partner with his good friend Norm Carter in Auto Medic Supply. They lived in Carson until 1988 and then moved to Paso Robles, California where he worked for Pioneer Auto which later was bought by Car Quest. In 2002 they moved to Loup City, NE. In 2006 he started working for Parker Enterprises in Kearney. He retired after being diagnosed with cancer in January, 2014.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn of Loup City, NE; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Amanda Mellor of Loup City, NE; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Shane Fox of Ogallala, NE; grandchildren; Ethan, Chloe, Kaytlyne, Katrina, Stephen, Olivia and Aidan and brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Shara (Wiberg) Mellor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Olive Mellor.
