Dennis B. Badura 89 of Loup City, NE died Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Tiffany Square Living Center in Grand Island, NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2019 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City. Celebrating the Mass will be Father Richard L. Piontkowski. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City with military honors by the Loup City American Legion Post #48. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 2 at the church with a Knights of Columbus Rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials are suggested to St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church, Loup City American Legion Post #48 or donor’s choice.

Dennis B. Badura was born February 10, 1930 to Bernard (Ben) and Emma (Shotkoski) Badura at Loup City, Nebraska. He grew up and attended school in Loup City and graduated from Loup City High School in 1947.

Dennis joined the United States Air Force in 1951 and served as Chief Gunner and Scanner on a R.B. 36-Bomber during the Korean War and Cold War flying Reconnaissance Missions until 1955.

Dennis married Darlene (Goc) on August 31, 1957.  To this union they had 3 children; Jerrilynn, Jan and James. They farmed north of Loup City until Dennis’ retirement in 1995.

He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and Knights of Columbus.

Dennis enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing and hunting, bowling and golfing with his old buddies. Dennis’s true enjoyment in life was his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dennis is survived by a daughter Jerrilynn (Jerry) Lyons of Grand Island, twin sons Jan of Lincoln and James of Sherman Reservoir.  Four grandchildren Eric (Liz) Lyons, Andrew Lyons, Alexa Badura and Jaci Badura.  Two great-grandchildren Oliver and Josephine Lyons.  Sisters and Brother-In-Laws: Lorraine Magsamen, Eloise Compardo, Karen (Don) Forsythe, Mary Jane (Mick) Ashman and Margaret (Dan) Wintz.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Darlene; parents; brother-in-laws, Ray Magsamen, Jim Compardo, LaVern Goc, Isadore Goc, Harry and sister-in-law, Zita Kowalewski.
