Dennis E. Dietz, 74 of Loup City, NE died Sunday, November 3, 2024 at his home in Loup City. Cremation has been held. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 7, 2024 at the United Methodist Church in Loup City with Reverend Spenser Johnson officiating. Burial will be held at a late date at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City. Visitation will be held one hour before service. Memorials are suggested to the Dietz family for later designation.

Dennis Eugene Dietz was born on May 21, 1950 in Arcadia, Nebraska to Dean and Hazel (Bouma) Dietz. Dennis graduated from Arcadia High School in 1968. Shortly after, he married Kathy (Psota) Dietz on March 13, 1970. Three children were born from this union, a daughter and two sons. Dennis worked at Loup City County Road Department and the Loup City Sale Barn and recently retired from Lindsey Manufacturing in Albion as a welder.

Dennis played football, basketball, and enjoyed the outdoors. In the fall, he would deer hunt with his sons and cousin. Spring time would find him with a fishing pole and telling tall tale stories of the fish that got away. His love of the outdoors he shared with his kids and grandchildren, leaving a mark that will never be forgotten.

Dennis is survived by his ex-wife, Kathy Dietz of Loup City, NE; daughter, Jodi (Dave) Burdick of Bartlett, NE; sons, James (Nicole) Dietz of Grand Island, NE, and John (Robyn) Dietz of Kearney, NE; six grandchildren; brothers, Delmer (Denise) of Ord, NE; Paul (Kathy) of Central City, NE and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
