Edith M. Velez

Edith M. Velez, 63 of Loup City, NE died Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at CHI Health, St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island, NE. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the Loup City Community Building in Loup City, NE with Reverend Douglas DeNeui officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the community building. Memorials are suggested to the Velez family.

Edith Marie Velez was born February 1, 1957 at Gretna, NE. She graduated from El Cajon High School in San Diego, CA in 1975. On October 7, 1994 she married Adrian Velez in Ogallala, NE. In 1995 they moved to Loup City, NE. Edith stayed home and raised her 7 children. Edith enjoyed sewing, needle point, time at the river and loved being with her family and supporting them in whatever they did. Her grandchildren were also a huge part of her life. Edith was also known for her cooking, especially her fried chicken. Edith was a member of Grace Bible Church in Loup City.

Edith is survived by her husband, Adrian of Loup City, NE; son Manolito Solis and spouse, Merl Heinlein of Loup City; daughter, Angie and spouse Tonia Solis of Grand Island, NE; son, Jospeh and spouse, Alicia Solis of Hawaii; son, Franky and spouse Trisha Solis of Loup City, NE; daughter, Adriananna Velez and boyfriend, Efrain Cintron of Grand Island, NE; daughter, Rashell and spouse, Buddy Comeau of Loup City, NE; mother-in-law, Ana Hilerio of Ord, NE; 11 grandchildren, one great grandchild and several brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Edie Solis and foster mother, Rosie Ferreira.
