Elva E. Wall, 104 of Aurora, Nebraska died peacefully, November 27, 2025 at the Memorial Community Care Center in Aurora, Nebraska. Celebration of Life services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at the Zion Lutheran Church, 1511 N Y Road, Hampton, NE 68843 with Reverend Mark Hannemann officiating. A reception will follow at the Bullet Venue, 104 Commerce Street, Hampton. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. 

     Elva attended school through the 8th grade in rural Bradshaw. Paul and Alma Klawonn along with their six children moved to Hampton where they farmed.

     On April 3, 1938 Elva was married to Harold William Wall. To this union 3 children were born: Eldon "Bud" Wall, Patty (Krance) Wall, and Judith Filter.

     In 1952 Harold and Elva moved from Hampton to a farm in Kronberg. Elva was a farm wife, mother, and started her own business making cakes. In addition, she began employment at McDonald's Clothing store. She then accepted a position with Hamilton Telephone Company where she advanced to be Chief Operator supervising staff and evolving through the introduction of technology advancements including computers, fiber optics, internet, and cellular service. Elva retired in July, 1990 following 30 years of service. Elva continued her cake business many years celebrating birthdays, graduations, and weddings of her 5 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

     In 1990 Harold and Elva left the farm and moved into Aurora where they resided together until Harold's passing October 20, 2003, at the age of 88. The couple celebrated a life together spanning 65 years, in which they were very involved with their church, the hospital auxiliary, family, and they loved dancing and were devout regulars at Utica's dance hall every weekend.

     Elva was active following retirement as a volunteer at the hospital auxiliary thrift shop working three full days every week for over 30 years earning the recognition of being the first recipient of the Marilyn Wortman Volunteer of the Year Appreciation Award.

     The family of Elva Estella Wall celebrate a lifetime of 104 years achieving the status of Centenarian. Elva experienced firsthand the transformation of the world she was born into that is now history. She attended school completing her studies as an 8th grader without the opportunity of continuing education offered to females. Her first home after marrying was a 2-bedroom farm house that did not have plumbing or electricity. Farm work was done by horses pulling antique machinery now on display in museums. Elva was cognitive, sharp, aware, witty, and a fashion mogul up to the moment she passed. She kept her mind sharp completing every kind of puzzle. She loved crossword puzzles, mind benders, and strategic challenges. Mastering the solution/equation/answer. Her hobbies included ceramics, painting, even decorating clothing for Bill and Judy's little dog, Cameo. She also collected treasures/collectibles from her time at the thrift shop. She lovingly washed, sewed, and repaired the toys from thrift shop extending their use and lovability for a child.

     Elva lived independently at her home and driving until age 98.

     Elva was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold Wall, two sisters, Melvina Hilligas and Dorothy McHenry, and three brothers, Arthur, Harold, and Willard Klawonn. Also, one grandchild, Jacqueline Krance.

     Elva was a lifetime member of the Zion Lutheran church in Hampton. She was recognized at the 150th year celebration of the church on September 17, 2023.

     Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son, Eldon "Bud" (Luana) Wall of Lincoln; daughters, Patty Wall of Aurora, and Judith (Bill) Filter of Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
