Emma Zimmerman

Emma Zimmerman, 79 of Loup City, NE died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Rose Lane Home in Loup City.  Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Loup City with Reverend Shawn Kitzing officiating.   Burial will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City.  Closed casket visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City.  Memorials are suggested to the Zimmerman family or donor’s choice.

Emma was born March 10, 1934 in Worms, Germany.  She was united in marriage to Leon Zimmerman on November 5, 1954 in Germany.  She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Loup City where she enjoyed serving her Lord and congregation.  She always put her faith and family first.  She also enjoyed crocheting, cooking, baking, playing cards and spending time with her family.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda Zimmerman of Grand Island, NE; Linett Obermiller of Loup City, NE; LaRae Oswald of Alda, NE; grandsons, Jason Obermiller and wife Kristy of Ravenna, NE; Clinton Obermiller and wife, Andrea of Loup City, NE; Josh Kuszak and special friend Annette of Litchfield, NE; Aaron Oswald of Alda, NE; three great-grandchildren, Riley, Tayler and Ty Obermiller; also many nieces and nephews and many close relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reverend Leon Zimmerman; brothers, Franz, Theo and Peter; daughter, Leanne Zimmerman and grandson, Jeremy Kuszak.
