Everett "Pete" N. Scadden, 88 of Loup City, NE died Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Rose Lane Home in Loup City. Everett's wishes were to donate his body to the Nebraska State Anatomical Board in Omaha, NE. Memorial Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Shelton United Methodist Church in Shelton, NE. Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Scadden family or donor's choice.

Pete was born on Jan. 15, 1934, to Benjamin and Claira (Critchfield) Scadden on a farm in rural Iowa. He was number 5 of 7 children, with 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Pete completed the 8th grade. Pete helped his father on the farm and in the fields. Pete met Lorraine (Olson) through her brother Al and after a 3-year courtship, the two were married on Dec. 9, 1961. They had Mashelle, Lee, Dennis and Denise. Through the years, Pete worked many different jobs from farming to welding and maintenance. He instilled a strong set of family values and work ethic in his family. In his spare time he would be found around a fishing pond, camping or making gifts out of wood for his loved ones. After retirement, he kept himself busy helping with grandchildren and laughing over a cup of coffee. Survivors include his brother Larry Scadden; daughter Mashelle Spargo; son Lee (Shari) Scadden; son Dennis (Sara) Scadden; daughter Denise (David) Lyons; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
