Gary A. Flinn

Gary A. Flinn, of Loup City, Nebraska died on his 81st birthday, Tuesday July 15, 2025 at Good Samaritan - St. Luke's in Kearney, NE. Cremation has taken place. No services are scheduled. Inurnment will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City.

Gary A. Flinn was born on July 15, 1944 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Marshall J. and Gwendolyn Janice (Todd) Flinn. He attended Kearney High School. Gary worked as a residential and commercial painter in the Kearney and Grand Island, NE area most of his life.  Gary’s hobbies were restoring old cars, attending drag racing in Kearney, looking at car magazines and drinking coffee.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Christi Flinn-Thomas of Helena, Montana; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brother, Chuck Polka of Kearney, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Steve Mathews of Kearney, Nebraska; nieces and nephews, Tom Flinn of Central City, Nebraska; Teresa Kuszak of Loup City, Nebraska; Dale, Todd, Scott and Jason Mathews all of Kearney, Nebraska and special friend, Peggy Nielsen of Loup City, Nebraska.

Gary was proceeded in death by his son, Jonathan; sister, Kay Mathews; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Verna Flinn; nieces, Nancy Kay Flinn and Lanette (Flinn) Wells.
