George “Bud” W. Kruger Jr., 71 of Loup City, NE died Monday, July 25, 2022 at Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell, NE. A gathering will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023 at the Loup City American Legion Club to celebrate Bud’s life. Military honors will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Sherman County Court House lawn provided by the Loup City American Legion Post #48 and United States Navy.
George Willard Kruger, Jr. was born July 23, 1951 at Grand Island, Nebraska to George W., Sr. and Doris J. (Loukata) Kruger. Bud graduated from Lincoln High School in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1969. In August, 1969 Bud enlisted in the Army. In November, 1973 he enlisted in the Navy and served in the Vietnam War. Bud retired from the Navy in 1991 and lived in Loup City, Nebraska the rest of his life. He was a member of the Loup City American Legion Post #48. He loved to fish and spend time at the Legion Club with his friends.
Bud is survived by his sister, Susan (Robert) Harm of Lincoln, NE; sister-in-law, Kimberly Kruger of Loup City, NE; special nephew, Tim Kruger of Loup City; special niece, Jennifer Kruger-Case of Houston, Texas as well as other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David G. Kruger and his grandparents.
