Gracie L. Kurtz, 90 of Loup City, NE died Sunday, May 05, 2013 at St. John’s Good Samaritan Center in Kearney, NE. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Loup City with Reverend Delmar Unruh officiating. Burial will be at the Austin Cemetery near Loup City. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City. Memorials are suggested to the Ascera Care Home Hospice or donor’s choice.
Gracie L. Kurtz was born August 29, 1922 to Judson and Pauline (Sullivan) Barnwell at Aledo, TX. She grew up and graduated in Aledo. In 1942 she married Thomas Wilbur Harrison. In 1945 she moved to Iowa and then moved back to Texas in 1950. In 1994 she moved to Rockville, NE to be close to her family. Gracie enjoyed gardening, crocheting and playing the harmonica. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Loup City.
She is survived by her daughter, Delores Treffer of Loup City, NE; sister, Janet Ferguson of Stephenville, TX; 2 grandchildren, John Treffer and Elizabeth Treffer; 3 great grandchildren, Erica, Cole and Gracie and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, David and 5 brothers and sisters.
