Harry E. Kuszak, 98 of Loup City, NE died Thursday, August 8, 2024 at the Howard County Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City. Father Richard Piontkowski will Celebrate the Mass. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 12 at St. Josaphat’s with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Kuszak family for later designation or donor’s choice. Harry Emanuel Kuszak was born April 11, 1926 at Loup City, NE to Alex and Rose (Woitalewicz) Kuszak. He grew up and attended school in the rural Loup City area. On October 23, 1951 he married Norma Michalski in Loup City. They lived on a farm northeast of Loup City by Sherman Dam milking cows and farming until 1983. While on the farm Harry also helped build Sherman Reservoir, trucked cattle to Omaha, worked for Farwell Irrigation District and worked for different feed elevators. Then they moved to town and Harry worked at Rose Lane Nursing Home and Westside Park as a maintenance man. Norma passed away November 18, 1999.
Harry loved to joke around with people, listening and dancing to polka music. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards. He was proud of living to age 98.
Harry is survived by his sons, Ken (Bernadette) Kuszak of Geneva, NE; Alan (Sheryl) Kuszak of St. Paul, NE; Randy (Teresa) Kuszak of Ashton, NE; daughter, Debbie (Randy) Mason of Grand Island, NE; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; parents, Alex and Rose; brothers, Edwin, Ernie, Clemence, Louie, Dominic and Ben Kuszak and sister, Lordine Budzinski and infant sister, Rita.
