Henry B Wilson

d. December 23, 2010

Henry B. Wilson, Jr. 76 of Loup City, NE was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Brookstone Meadows in Elkhorn, NE.  Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Loup City Community Building with Reverends Douglas DeNeui and Delmar Unruh officiating.  Burial will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City with military honors by the Loup City American Legion Post #48.  Visitation will be held 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Loup City Community Building. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church, Wilson family or donor’s choice.
Henry was born the younger of two children to Alma (Elrod) and Henry J. Wilson, Sr. He was born on August 28, 1934 at the old hospital in Loup City on Eighth Street. The family lived west of Loup City until his junior high years when they moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming. They returned to Loup City during his high school years and Henry graduated from Loup City High School in 1952. After farming with Henry Sr. for several years, he served in the Army from January 1955 through January of 1957. Upon leaving the Army he returned to Loup City to the farm where he made his home with his wife Eleanor (Gembala) whom he married on October 6, 1962. They had three children: Lou Ann, Roger and Roseann. Hank and Eleanor farmed and ranched -  starting out raising the Herefords which were his dad’s favorites. The Herefords gave way to Black Baldies but in 1986 he fell in love with the Charolais breed and that lead to the development of the West Fork Ranch. The ranch grew and later they added Red Angus to the mix. Henry was known by most as “Hank” or “Junior” and most of all as a hard worker.
He is survived by his son, Roger Wilson of Tucson, AZ; daughter and son-in-law, Lou Ann and Mike Goding of Omaha; daughter, Roseann of Loup City, NE; five grandchildren: Ryan, John and Grant Goding and Jarod and Jenna Wilson; brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Donna Wilson of Kearney; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ray and Rita Gembala of Kearney, NE; brother-in-law, Jim Gembala of Loup City, NE; sisters-in-law, Irene Klausen of Rockville, NE and Clarice Wienke of Firth, NE and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.
