Irene E. Schnase 85 of Kenesaw, NE died Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Haven Home in Kenesaw. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Loup City, NE with Reverend Barbara Spangler officiating. Burial will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City. Memorials are suggested to the Schnase family or donor’s choice.
Irene E. Schnase was born November 11, 1924 at Elba, NE to Hans P. and Mary C. (Nelson) Jensen. She grew up and attended country school in Dannevirke. She married John Schnase on June 19, 1954 in Ord, NE. Her and her husband John owned and operated a tree trimming and cutting business in Loup City. She loved to dance, fish, sew, crafts, her flower garden, puzzles and playing cards.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, David and Melissa Schnase of Kenesaw, NE; two daughters, Sandra Fletcher of Roseland, NE and Michaela Whitefoot of Grand Island, NE; nine grandchildren; Mr. and Mrs. Shawn Fletcher of Grand Island, NE; Mr. and Mrs. Tim Fletcher of Kenesaw, NE; Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Whitefoot of Cairo, NE; Josh Whitefoot of Grand Island, NE; Farron and David Schnase of Kenesaw, NE; Kody Schnase of Blue Hill, NE; Samantha and Shayla Schnase of Kenesaw, NE; eight great grandchildren, Nathan and Lexi Fletcher of Grand Island, NE; Wauneta Fletcher of St. Paul, NE; Brock and Drake
