Joy R. Lutz, 96 of Loup City, NE died Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Rose Lane Home in Loup City. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Loup City with Reverend Barbara Spangler officiating. Burial will be held at the Arcadia City Cemetery in Arcadia, NE. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City. Memorials are suggested to Senior Center of Loup City or Methodist Church of Loup City or Arcadia.
Joy R. (Dinsdale) Lutz was born September 12, 1915 at Loup City, NE to Robert and Cora (Fross) Dinsdale. She grew up and attended school in Loup City and graduated at the top of her high school class in 1933. She worked for lawyers, Stephens and Line and later as a cashier for the light company, Consumers Public Power District. While working for the light company she met her husband, Guy Lutz. Joy and Guy married August 11, 1946 in Loup City and then moved to Arcadia. Three children were born to this union, Robert, Shirley and Thomas. Joy played the organ for church for most of the years that she lived in the Arcadia area. She loved her family and her church. Guy and Joy worked hard and did their best to build a great life for their family. Joy took great pride in her family. In 20004 Guy and Joy moved to Loup City. Guy passed away April 6, 2005. After having a stroke in 2010 Joy moved to Rose Lane Home.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Janice Lutz of Arcadia, NE; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Mike King of Loup City, NE; daughter-in-law, Pam Lutz of Miller, MO; grandchildren, Darby and wife, Kathy; Penny and husband, Matt; Mike; Michele and husband, John all of Nebraska; Scott and wife, Linda; Tracy and wife, Joni; Shawn and wife, Misty; Corey and wife Lacey all of Missouri; brother-in-law, Bob and wife Joyce Lutz of Loup City; brother-in-law, Henry Blake of Texas and 12 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Guy; son, Tom; brothers, Richard and Chester and sister, Letitia.
