Lawrence “Larry” Gappa, 70 of Grand Island, NE died Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Rose Lane Home in Loup City, NE. Private family memorial services were held Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City with Father Martin Egging officiating. Burial was held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City. Memorials are suggested to the Gappa family or donor’s choice.
Lawrence John Gappa was born in Loup City, NE September 4, 1943 to Edmund and Hattie (Peters) Gappa. Most of Larry’s life was spent in Nebraska and Arizona. He worked construction and security. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his children; Eddie (Kelly) Gappa of Grand Island, NE; Jackie (Bryan) Luke of Yuma, AZ; their mother, Karen Rodriguez; four grandchildren, Hannah and Reece Gappa and Katelyn and Zach Luke; two brothers, DeWayne (Helen) Gappa and Wayne (Kathy) Gappa and sister, Darlene Matzinger. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son and three brothers.
