Lois E. Ritz

Lois E. Ritz 87 of Loup City, NE died Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Rose Lane Home in Loup City.  Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Loup City with the Reverend Joel Plisek officiating.  Burial will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City.  Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Loup City.  Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church or donor’s choice.

Lois E. (Bartunek) Ritz was born August 3, 1926 at Loup City, NE to James A. and Leah E. (Daddow) Bartunek.  She graduated from Loup City High School in 1944.  She married Paul V. Ritz on November 22, 1945 at Englewood, CO.  She lived in Hastings, NE from 1946 to 1950; Sidney, NE 1950 to 1963; Grand Island, NE from 1963 to 2010 and in 2010 she moved to Rose Lane Home in Loup City where she resided till her death.  During her lifetime she worked for the Sidney, NE Chamber of Commerce and was a receptionist for Dr. Robert Chase’s Eye Clinic in Grand Island until her retirement.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.  Lois loved time with her family and their activities.  She enjoyed playing cards and traveling with her friends and family.  In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and ceramics.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Pam Ritz of Loup City, NE; daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Joel Wirth of Chandler, AZ; three grandchildren, Tina Kosinski, Terry Ritz and Casey Smith; eight great grandchildren, Wade Kosinski, Kyle Kosinski, Kaylee Kosinski, Kassie Kosinski, Justice Ritz, Kaden Ritz, Logan Ritz, Trent Smith; sister, Marion Hancock of Ft. Collins, CO.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Ritz and sister, Ruth Czaplewski.
