Lois J. (Woody) Chamberlin

Lois J. Chamberlin, 86 of Loup City, NE died Friday, June 12, 2020 at her son’s home in Loup City surrounded by her loving family. Cremation has been held. Celebration of Life services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the United Methodist Church in Loup City with Reverend Lori Stevens officiating. All COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines will be followed and facemasks or face coverings are required. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Chamberlin family or donor’s choice. .

Lois J. (Woody) Chamberlin was born November 6, 1933 at Arcadia, NE to Joseph Harvey and Lena (Moore) Woody. She attended school in Arcadia, graduated in 1952 and went on to earn her Teacher’s Certificate from Kearney State College. On June 21, 1957 she married Clyde Edwin Chamberlin in Papillion, NE. They had two sons, John and Craig. Lois lived in Arcadia, Grand Island, Omaha, Millard, Arlington and Loup City throughout her life and worked as a school teacher, phone operator, retail worker and homemaker. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Lois had a passion for crafting and computers. She enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center and assisting others with computers and crafting for craft shows. Time spent with grandkids was important whether watching tv or crafting together. She was known for her humor and her kind and compassionate spirit.

Lois is survived by her two sons, Craig (Pam) Chamberlin of Loup City, NE and John Schmidthorst of Omaha, NE; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde; father, Harvey; mother, Lena; brothers, Alan, Dean and Don and sister, Alice Hruby.
