Myron O. Coffin, 82 of Loup City died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Rose Lane Home in Loup City, NE. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Loup City with Reverend Joel Plisek officiating. Cremation will follow the service with burial of the ashes to be held at a later date at the Fairview Cemetery in Phillipsburg, KS. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City. Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Myron O. Coffin was born October 29, 1930 at Phillips County, KS to Orville Herman and Grace Irene (Thompson) Coffin. He grew up in Deer Creek and attended Deer Creek School District 36. He married Judy Dragoo on May 30, 1968. To this union were born five children. He married Shirley Windhorst April, 1998. Throughout his lifetime he lived in Anselmo, NE, Lawrence, KS, Colorado Springs, CO, Long Island, KS, Alma, NE, Norton, KS, Calhan, CO, Phelps, KS, Loveland, CO, Longmont, CO, Aurora, NE, Loveland, CO and Loup City, NE. He was a truck driver and seed man and worked for a number of years for Petersen Farms in Loup City. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Loup City, NE; sons and daughters-in-law, Myron Dean and Jonna of Colorado; Marty and Tami of Loup City, NE; Mikal of Loup City, NE; daughter and son-in-law, Misty and Travis Kuhlman of Minden, NE; ten grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Phyllis of Colorado; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Stan Kats of Prairie View, KS and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy; son, Monte and granddaughter, Kyli.
