Peter A. “Pete” Karslon, 79 of Fremont, NE died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Merrick Manor in Fremont, NE. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Ashton, NE with Father Martin Egging officiating. Burial will be held at the St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Ashton with military honors provided by the Ashton American Legion Post #108. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2010 at the church with a Vigil Service to be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Karslon family or donor’s choice.
Peter A. Karslon was born May 26, 1931 at Ashton, NE to August and Elizabeth (Wardyn) Karslon. He grew up and attended school in Ashton, NE. He entered the US Army in the early 1950’s. Returned to Ashton and eventually moved to Fremont, NE. He was employed by the Army Corps of Engineers until retiring in September, 1989.
He is survived by two sisters, Helen Spotanski of Boelus, NE and Betty Peters of Oakes, ND; special nephew, Jake and many other nieces and nephews.
