Robert “Rob” A. Lewandowski, 58 of Loup City, NE died Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Rose Lane Home in Loup City. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church. Father Richard Piontkowski will celebrate the mass. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 5 at St. Josaphat’s with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Lewandowski family for later designation. The Rosary and Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on the Higgins Funeral Home Facebook page. Robert Anthony Lewandowski was born August 3, 1965 at Loup City, Nebraska to Carl W. and Charlene M. (Palser) Lewandowski. He grew up on the family farm south of Arcadia and attended Arcadia Public Schools. He graduated from Arcadia High School in 1983. He went on to Kearney State College graduating in 1987. Rob taught Industrial Arts and coached in Beaver City/Southern Valley from 1990 through 1997. On May 24, 1991 he married Dallas VanMatre at St. James Catholic Church in Kearney, Nebraska. The family moved to Loup City where Rob taught and coached until 2012. He is a member of St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City.
Rob is survived by his wife, Dallas of Loup City, NE; sons, Brady Lewandowski of Kearney, NE and Grant Lewandowski of Franklin, NE; daughter, Kennedy and husband, Austin Geis of Wood River, NE; son, Drew Lewandowski of Loup City, NE; sister, Karen Greenland of Arcadia, NE; brother, Ronald (Melea) Lewandowski of Arcadia, NE; sisters, Barb (Kenny) Dorsey of Arcadia, NE; Linda (Jim) Obermiller of Loup City, NE; Diane Loeffelbein of Loup City, NE; Carla Lonowski (Larry Placzek) of Loup City, NE; Mitzi (Lonnie) Tvrdik of Loup City, NE; Cheryl (Sam) Dunn of Loomis, NE; brother, David (Nicci) Lewandowski of Arcadia, NE and many nieces and nephews.
Rob was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Charlene; brothers-in-law, Kenny Loeffelbein and Gary Greenland and father-in-law, Jerry VanMatre.
