Rosemary Lynn Easterly Friesen was born on July 5, 1946 to William and Sarah (Reifschneider) Easterly in Douglas, Wyoming.  At a very young age her family moved to Sutton Nebraska, where she resided until she graduated from high school in 1964.  While in high school she participated in Band, Choir, Pep Club, Glee, Class play, and Annual Staff.  She was baptized and confirmed in faith at the Confederated Church in Sutton.

Upon graduating high school, she attended Wesleyan University in Lincoln before entering the nursing program at Bryan School of nursing.  She graduated from the nursing program in 1968.  After completing the nursing program, she married the love of her life Arlyn Friesen on August 3rd, 1968.  They had three children, Lisa, Krysten, and Scott.  They started their married life in Stamford, Nebraska where she worked fulltime at the hospital in Oxford.  In 1969, they moved to Lushton, NE where she was a homemaker and they started their family.  During her early married life, she stayed home to raise their three children while Arlyn traveled with his career.  In the spring of 1979, they moved their family back to Nebraska to farm.  First residing in Litchfield and later moving to Loup City in the spring of 1981.  That fall Rosemary returned to nursing, working nights at the hospital until it closed in 1990. After the hospital closed, Rosemary continued to work at Rose Lane Nursing Home in Loup City until 2011.  Upon leaving the nursing home, she pursued her dream of creating glass art and selling them at area craft shows.

Rosemary came from a small family, and joined one that was not so small.  Family was always important to her, and she loved all of us so very much. She was blessed with 7 amazing grandchildren.  She truly enjoyed each of them.  She loved attending their events, watching them succeed, and every visit and hug.  Everyone that walked through her doors called her Mom.  She was so proud of her bonus son Paul.  Rosemary’s hobbies were crocheting, sewing, playing cards and dominoes, swimming, reading, and most important traveling with her husband.

Rosemary is survived by her daughters, Lisa and Jeff Marquart of Pleasanton, NE; Krysten and John Teeter of Clearwater, KS and son, Scott and Stephanie Friesen of Loup City, NE; special family member, Paul Woznick of Lincoln, NE; seven grandchildren, William, Elizabeth, and Joshua Roe; Makenzie and JT Teeter & Aleia and Kolton Friesen.  Siblings, Marjorie and Harvey Smith, Evelyn and Charles Duerksen, Milford and Jean Friesen, Donna Friesen, Jim and Peggy Friesen, Vern and Clarice Friesen, Beverly and Bill Brown and Eleanor and John Pauls; numerous nieces and nephews and “extra” children and close friend, Barb Schlieker.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, William and Sarah; in-laws, Klaus and Bertha Friesen; brother, Steven Easterly; brother-in-law, Leroy Friesen and nephew, Gregory Duerksen.
