Teresa (Swisher) Ahrens

Teresa Ahrens, 50 of Loup City, NE died Thursday, June 9, 2016 near Central City, NE as a result of a car accident.  Cremation has been held. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the Loup City Community Building with Reverend Doug DeNeui officiating. No Visitation. Private burial will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Teresa’s family or donor’s choice.

Teresa Ahrens was born April 15, 1966 at Mullen, NE to Francis and Norma (Applegarth) Swisher.  She grew up in Halsey and graduated from Dunning High School.  Teresa worked at several hospitals and nursing homes in the area as an LPN.  She loved the outdoors and antiques, especially wooden boxes.  She also loved spending time with her grandkids. She had a very distinctive laugh that was easily recognized.  Teresa was passionate about her love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  She loved to talk about Jesus to anyone and was scheduled to go on a mission trip to El Salvador.

She is survived by her daughter, Tara and husband, Arthur Holland of Broken Bow, NE; son, Brian and wife, Sara Hogg of Broken Bow, NE; daughter, Chasity and husband, Reed Hoffmaster of Utica, NE; father, Francis Swisher of Halsey, NE; brothers, James and David; sisters, De Etta, Rose, Mary, Betty, Kay and Donna; grandchildren, Skylen, Kaleb, Lane, Maliyah, Silas and one expected grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Norma Swisher.
