Virginia S. Overby 73 of Loup City, NE died Tuesday, January 13, 2015. In following with Virginia’s wishes she has been cremated. A Celebration of Life open house will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 25, 2015 at the Rose Lane Home Chapel in Loup City, NE. A small prayer service will be held the first weekend in May in Dayton, Tennessee during her family’s Dedication Sunday. Memorials are suggested to the Overby family or donor’s choice.
Virginia S. Overby was born December 6, 1941 at Dayton, Tennessee to Luther and Gladys (Garrett) Stinnett. She grew up and attended school in Rhea County, Tennessee. She was a Registered Nurse and worked in the health field for over 40 years. She lived in Tennessee and Nebraska throughout her lifetime. She was a member of the Baptist Church and later the Methodist Church. Virginia loved her family and enjoyed playing such a big part in the lives of her grandchildren. The majority of her life was spent taking care of others through her roles of caregiver and nurse. Her love of reading and travel took her on many adventures. The interest of family genealogy gave her an appreciation of her heritage as she passed on her legacy to her family.
She is survived by her son Dewayne and wife, Lori Overby of Nashville, TN; daughters, Olivia and husband, Pete Spencer of Nashville, TN and Kim, husband, Paul of Loup City, NE; grandchildren, Dewayne Jr, Alyssia, Megan, Chase, Michael, Jena, Olivia, Samantha, Mary, Joe, Kaleb, Amy, Brooke, Matt and Addison; great-grandchildren, James, Raymond, Austin, Haleigh, Jaliyah, Landon, Kiley, Jessica, Beth and Joey; sisters, Evon LeBlanc and Thelma Rourke and brothers James, Charles, Arvil, and Luke Stinnett. She was preceded in death by her parents, two grandsons, Christopher Overby and Johnathon Spencer; sisters, Mildred King and Vernia Blake and brothers, Earl Stinnett and Carl Stinnett.
