Wendy A. (Charlton) Charlton

September 10, 1955 — July 13, 2016

Wendy A. Charlton 60 of Arcadia, NE died Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the Valley County Hospital in Ord, NE.  Wendy chose to donate her body to the Nebraska State Anatomical Board.  A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Loup City. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Arcadia Fire and Rescue or donor’s choice.  Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City is in charge of arrangements. Wendy A. Charlton was born September 10, 1955 at Loup City, NE to Jack Albert and Ellen Marie (Amick) Charlton.  She grew up and attended school at Loup City and graduated in 1973. She then attended Hastings College and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. After college Wendy moved back to Loup City to farm with her father. In 1981 she married Andrew Augustyn and they farmed at Loup City. While living at Loup City she drove the school bus, was on the school board, was a medical transcriptionist and was the Executive Director at West Side Park. In 2010 she moved with her parents to Lincoln and in May, 2016 she moved back to Arcadia. Wendy loved her dog and riding horses with her friends. She also enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Wendy is survived by her sons, Andrew (A.J.) and wife, Candice of Loup City, NE; Michael and wife, Elizabeth of Loup City; mother, Ellen Charlton of Lincoln, NE; sisters, Diane Zetterman of Lincoln and Paula husband, Ron Johnson of Bushnell,  NE; four grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack; sister, Jill; brother, Bruce and her grandparents.
