Beryl J. Iske, 88 of Loup City, NE died peacefully in her sleep Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Arbor Care Center in Ord, NE. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the United Methodist Church in Loup City with Reverend Lori Stevens officiating. Cremation will follow the service with burial of the ashes to be held at a later date at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 4 at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Iske family or donor’s choice. Beryl J. Iske was born January 12, 1934 at Ipswich, England to Herbert and Beatrice (Baxter) Dowsing. She grew up and attended school in Ipswich. She met and married Donald D. Iske while he was stationed there during the Korean War. They moved to Omaha, NE in 1954. In January, 1958 they moved to Loup City, NE. After moving to Loup City Beryl worked at Obermiller Pack and then at Rose Lane Home. She worked at Rose Lane for 40 years. She was a member of the Loup City American Legion Auxiliary Post #48.
Beryl enjoyed knitting blankets for the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading, cross word puzzles and visiting with friends. Beryl loved baking and sharing her baked good with her friends, especially over the holidays.
Beryl is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Donna & Tom Peters and Sandi Nagorski of Loup City; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Nettie Iske of Kimball, NE; daughter-in-law, Amanda Iske of Shelton; 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Susan Iske and Diane Dowsing; step sister-in-law, Rose (Bill) Kaderiet and numerous nieces and nephews.
Beryl was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald D. Iske; son, Richard Iske; brothers, Dennis, Bert and Ron Dowsing; brother-in-law, Elmer Iske; son-in-law, Don Nagorski; grandson, Shane Peters; great grandson, Carter Eurek and great granddaughter, Grace Rosenthal.
