Lillian Mae Maciejewski, 86 of Loup City, Nebraska loving wife and mother of 6 children passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Rose Lane Home in Loup City. Private/Family Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2021 in Loup City. Father Richard Piontkowski will Celebrate the Mass. Interment will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City. Public visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City. The family will not be present during the visitation. Masks are recommended and all social distancing guidelines will be followed. Memorials are suggested to St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church, Sherman County Senior Center or donor’s choice. Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City is in charge of arrangements. Lillian Mae (Lech) Maciejewski was born May 26, 1934 to John and Gertrude (Shotkoski) Lech in Elyria, Nebraska. She graduated from Ord High School in 1952 and worked at a floral shop until her marriage to Dennis F. Maciejewski on November 24, 1956.
Dennis and Lillian built their lives on the farm and were recognized by the Knights of -Ak-Sar-Ben Foundation with the Nebraska Pioneer Farm Award. Lillian loved children and was a “babysitting mother” to many others for over 30 years. She loved flowers and their vegetable gardens and was known for sharing their beauty and abundance with others. We all loved her baked and canned goods. Lillian was a faithful servant at St. Josephat’s Catholic Church, was a member of the Sodality Rosary, enjoyed participating and supporting the Sherman County Fair and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis of 64 years; children, Cindy (Tim) Molko of Rochester, MN; Christie (John) Arkle of Kearney, NE; Chuck (Colleen) of Elkhorn, NE; Ron of Parker, CO; Duane (Jodi) of Omaha, NE and Sharon (Ed) Robson of Elkhorn, NE; grandchildren, Matt (Victoria) Molko, Mike Molko, Erika, Shawn (Brecken) and Aaron Arkle, Cameron and Lauren Maciejewski, Lilly and Grace Robson; great grandsons, Solomon and Ambrose Molko; brothers, Everett (Pat) Lech, Leonard Lech, Marvin (Nancy) Lech, Rolland (Eileen) Lech, sisters-in-law, Harriet Kisicki, Nancy and Gladys Maciejewski and brother-in-law Darryl Roberts and many nieces and nephews.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Fabian and Roman Lech; sister, Sylvia Roberts; sisters-in-law, Mary Lech, Ruth Lech and Angie Dubas; brothers-in-law, Richard Kisicki, James Maciejewski, Francis Maciejewski and Rene Dubas.
