Ronnel "Ron" L. Spiegel

    Ronnel “Ron” L. Spiegel, 76 of Loup City, NE (Sherman Reservoir) passed peacefully at his home on Monday, March 7, 2022 surrounded by his family. Celebration of Life Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2022 at the United Methodist Church in Loup City with Reverend Lori Stevens officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Burial will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Spiegel family or donor’s choice.      Ronnel Lee Spiegel was born September 25, 1945 at McAlester, OK to Andrew John and Edna Louise (Kemper) Spiegel. The family moved back to Albion, NE in 1948. Ron grew up and attended Albion Public Schools and graduated from Albion High School. Ron married Candace Nedela in 1965 and they had two children; daughter, Tamera Lee and son, Rodney Westlake. On October 13, 1972 he married Katherine A. Kaspar in Yankton, SD. They had one daughter, Cheri Lynn. While in Albion, Ron worked for the Rural Electric Association. They lived in Albion until 1973 when they moved to Central City, NE. Ron worked as a police officer for the Central City Police. In 1989 he began working as a welder/assembler for Case New Holland in Grand Island until his retirement. In 1991 Ron and Kathy moved to Sherman Reservoir near Loup City. He enjoyed living on the lake, boating and fishing.

     Ron is survived by his wife, Kathy of Loup City; daughter, Tammy (Shane) Stites of Kalispell, MT; son, Rodney (Angie) Spiegel of Central City, NE; daughter, Cheri (Brett) Taylor of Glenwood, IA; twelve grandchildren; Trent, Travis (Kristi), Tyler and Trevor (Ashley) Wobschall; Mitchell and Nicholas (Shelby) Spiegel and MaKenna Spiegel; Amanda and Paige Sutton, Brandon (Lindsey) Sutton and Brooklyn and Brody Taylor; five great grandchildren, Zalana, Evan, Maverick, Kallie and Klara; three brothers, Bill, Dick and Kenny Spiegel and numerous nieces and nephews.

     Ron was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert, Jack and Jim and sisters-in-law, Gloria, Leoda and Pat.
