Wayne F. Blazey of Central City, NE formerly of Loup City, NE died Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Azria Health Care Center in Central City. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2022 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City. Father Richard Piontkowski will Celebrate the Mass. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City. Visitation will be one hour before the service with a Knights of Columbus Rosary to be held at 10 at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Blazey family or donor’s choice. The mass will be livestreamed on the Higgins Funeral Home Facebook page. Wayne F. Blazey was born October 2, 1961 at Oakland, CA to Ann Marie Blazey. Wayne spent the first two years of his life in Oakland before moving to Loup City. He attended school in Loup City and graduated from Loup City High School in 1980. He took pictures for the Sherman County Times from January, 1997 until April, 2006. Wayne volunteered helping out with Knights of Columbus, Knights bingo and Knights free throw competition. He also volunteered with the Sherman County Fair and Polish Days in Loup City. Wayne loved Nebraska Cornhusker football and was a season ticket holder since 1991. Wayne was a member of St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.
Wayne is survived by cousins, Ralph (Cindy) Baker of Loup City, NE and Kathy Kivitt of Columbus, NE. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Marie, grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
