Ellwyn L. Apperson

Ellwyn L. Apperson, 95 of Broken Bow, NE formerly of Loup City, NE went to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Broken Bow.  Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City with Reverend Douglas DeNeui officiating.  Burial will be held following the service at the Arcadia City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 26 at Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City. Memorials are suggested Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Broken Bow or donor’s choice.

Ellwyn L. Apperson was born October 21, 1920 at Wescott, NE to Albert and Martha (Bennett) Apperson.  He graduated from Arcadia High School in 1939.  He was united in marriage to Wilma Owens on November 29, 1941 at Loup City, NE.  He spent his life farming in the Arcadia and Loup City areas.  He retired from farming in 1990 and moved into Loup City.  Due to poor health, in 2009 he moved to Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Broken Bow, NE. 

Ellwyn is survived by two sons; Jim and wife, Peggy of Bella Vista, AR; Edwin and wife, Wanda of Tracy, MN; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma; parents; five brothers and four sisters.
