Heaven gained a beautiful angel on Mother’s Day, May 8, 2016 when Rose M. Mroczek, 79 of Loup City, NE died at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE.  Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2016 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City with Father Tom Ryan officiating.  Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery at Loup City.  Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church with a Vigil Celebration/Sodality Rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. at the church.  Memorials are suggested to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or donor’s choice. 

Rose Marie (Stenka) Mroczek was born on December 18, 1936 to Theodore and Anna (Eurek) Stenka.  She grew up and attended school at St. Josaphat’s School through the 8th grade and then graduated from Loup City High School in 1954.  On May 10, 1955 she married Anzel Mroczek at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City.  Anzel and Rose farmed eight miles north of Loup City.  After five years on the farm they moved into town where they have spent their entire lives.  During high school she started working for Sacred Heart Hospital in Loup City where she continued to work for 40 years.  She then worked at the Loup City Medical Clinic for Dr. Anantachia for 10 years until she was unable to work due to Multiple Sclerosis.   She was a member of St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church and Rosary Sodality.

     She is survived by her husband, Anzel of Loup City, NE; daughter, Jackie Handlin of North Platte, NE; son, Terry Mroczek of Loup City NE; daughters and sons-in-law, Shelly and Kent Edington of Dickens, NE; Debbie and Paul Eurek of Loup City, NE; Kim and Jerry Scheuler of Grand Island, NE; twelve grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; sisters, Margie Moore of Lincoln, NE and Julie Gentleman of Omaha, NE.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Ray Stenka; brother-in-law, Franklin Techmeier and parents.
