John M. Estep

          John M. Estep, 54, of Ashton died Tuesday, March 22, 2016 in Loup City. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday at Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City.  Chuck Radtke will officiate. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.

          Mr. Estep was born January 20, 1962 in Hamilton, Ohio to Lloyd and Ruthie (Fea) Estep.

          He was rasied in Ohio before moving to California with his mother for a couple of years.  He later returned to Hamilton where he attended and graduated from Hamilton High School.  He then attended college in Ohio.

          Cooking was John’s passion.  He worked as a cook for many years in California before moving to Nebraska in 1990.

          John was united in marriage to Cinthea Brooks on June 7, 2001 in Franklin, NE.

Most recently he cooked for the Colony Club in Loup City and then at the Loup City Diner for two years.  He retired because of ill health.

          John loved Nebraska and the Denver Broncos football.  He also loved animals including his dogs who survive him, Chicken, Scooter, Mouse and Duck.

          Survivors include his wife, Cindy of Ashton; a son, Jonathon Estep and a daughter, Coral Estep, both at home in Ashton; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Leslie Estep of College Corner, Ohio and Anthony and Theresa Estep of Barstow, CA.

          He is preceded in death by his parents.
